Healing Fields 9/11/11
Each year, the city of Tempe puts on the Healing Fields - a flag for each person who died on 9/11/01-each one with the persons name and a note about them. A photo can't bring you the magnitude of this display of close to 3,000 flags. This year, it became personal. As I was talking a photograph of one of the flags, a gentleman next to me said "he was my friend." He was a firefighter.

This is the military section where those lost in the military that day are remembered.
The fire fighters and police officers have gold ribbons on their flags.
At the end of the day, the haboob came in. I slightly outran it the second half of my drive back home!
